Also work progresses on the 40 costumes for the play. The basic framework and main fabric for the onion and brussel sprout are done. I want to try them on the kids really quickly before I finish them. Next task for the play is sizing up the cat suit pattern for 5 different kids. With any luck, I will have some volunteers to actually sew them together. Then the centaur, the slice of cake and the jar of mayonnaise. Am saving the carrot and banana for last.
A couple of grown-ups who play dress-up (or at least make things to dress up in). Historically inspired, fantasy, cosplay and vintage; we make whatever inspires us. Robin is lean and elegant, a thoughtful perfectionist. Lisa prefers to make rather than to wear, finding inspiration in the oddest places. We are retired and sew whenever we aren't traveling.

Yay! Congratulations on your award! Wish you'd entered last year when I did. Hanging out in the green room and making friends with everyone was so much fun!
ReplyDeleteI would not have remembered to reverse the image either, but would have made the reversed image the one I used. I am mean and lazy; you are good and kind.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell is this play: the sandwiches and their friends? Just when you think you've seen it all...That leaves out the centaur. Left the long tubular frames for last...I vote for inflatable!
The public demands photos and at least some summary of the plot. you can put blue dots over their faces to preserve the actors' internet privacy.
At this moment, I am not sewing an Elmer Fudd 'What's Opera Doc?" costume for the Emerald City Comic Con. I am going in my dalek suit with my goddaughter in a tardis dress. She gets the sonic, I get the plunger and paint roller. Her father will just have to be sorry he didn't Fudd.
I will post pictures of the play costumes as I make progress. I'm not sure what it's about because the kids write it, but I know it has something to do with bacon and mad scientists, giant evil foodstuffs and animals, all reported on by a roving news crew.
DeleteAnd Dalek pics, or it didn't happen!,
